When you apply and are onboarded as a self-employed driver: your name, contact details, postcode, driving-licence details, right-to-work information (including share codes), National Insurance number, address history, identity documents you upload, your interview/onboarding attendance, messages between you and our team, and your business details (limited company, UTR, VAT) as they are set up. For vetting we also collect health information (medical-fitness declarations and drug & alcohol testing where a client requires it) and criminal-record information(unspent convictions only).
We use your information to process your application, run the background checks the client requires, arrange your onboarding sessions, put you forward to clients, set up your delivery business where you ask us to, and send you service messages about your application — because it is necessary for the services you have asked for and to take steps before you are engaged by a client (contract); to comply with our legal obligations (for example right-to-work checks); and for our legitimate interests in placing suitable drivers with clients. Health and criminal-record information is processed under UK GDPR Article 9 and Data Protection Act 2018 Schedule 1 conditions; our Appropriate Policy Document is available on request.
Only with: the client(s) you are being put forward to; our background-screening providers (including providers who process data in the United States under appropriate international-transfer safeguards); our payment processor (PayPal); and the messaging services that deliver our SMS, WhatsApp and email to you. We never sell your data.
If your application lapses or is unsuccessful, your identifying details are anonymised after 12 months. Documents and sensitive answers from unsuccessful vetting are deleted after 6 months. Payment and tax records are kept for 6 years as the law requires.
You can ask for a copy of everything we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask for earlier deletion, by emailing jobs@driveragent.co.uk. You can ask us to stop contacting you (this may mean we cannot progress your application). You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
